“They’re cool, but are they balanced?”

Everyone’s favorite question, a complicated question with a complicated answer. No TTRPG dice whether they’re factory made or handmade are ever perfectly balanced. The short answer is they’re all balanced enough for playing tabletop games, but will never be allowed in a casino.

Since Pixels dice are more complex than regular dice, we’ve worked hard to ensure your dice will roll as fairly as possible. This means having all internal components in a central position when possible and adding counterweights as needed to account for additional mass on one side over another. 

A key factor in truly random rolls comes not from the internal balance of dice, but from the quality of the edges. This is why casino dice use only the sharpest of edges to ensure there is no bias. If the edges of a die are rounded they will roll more and settle less on the faces opposing those with softer edges. When rolling dice with a higher number of faces and sides, this factor can greatly impact the roll results.
