Open Source
At Pixels, we believe everything can be improved with collaboration. No one person has all the answers and there is always another perspective that can be considered. This is why we’ve committed to making every aspect of the Pixels Dice project Open Source, from the components used inside dice to the code required to make the dice function.
We encourage people to explore our code and experiment with creating patterns and profiles. Doing so, you’ll learn the basics of code and discover new ways to personalize your Pixels experience.
Beyond just changing light colors and patterns, the Open Source nature allows any developer to integrate Pixels Dice with their platform. This means you can roll your Pixels on the table and have the result of your roll display within things like virtual tabletop platforms, video games, and more.
Pixels can connect to anything through Bluetooth, the only limit is your imagination. Building custom integrations to work with your game system is something we strongly encourage, we can’t wait to see what you create! As content gets developed we will be building a community driven Knowledge Base with information on how to get started and records of what others have created. For now, you can find all of our libraries and documentation on GitHub.
