Why not learn from other people who have written successful essays and become so good at it that they teach others how to do the same thing?

You might argue there are many ways to write a good essay. It really doesn’t matter which exact pattern you follow, as long as you follow it. The following basic pattern for writing a good essay can be tweaked in different areas as you see the need.

  1. Select the topic of your essay. You can accomplish this by a number of different methods. This is where many students get stuck. They spend so much time trying to find the perfect topic they end up using all their research and writing time. Don’t let this happen to you and purchase essay online! Many brilliant topic ideas are out there, just waiting for you to discover them. If you are ready to start finding one of those brilliant topics, try the strategies that follow. You may find one right away but if you don’t, try another strategy. If your topic has been assigned by your teacher, you can move on to step 2.
    • Define the purpose of your essay. Are you explaining how to perform a particular task? Are you required to persuade your readers to believe a certain way or adopt a new attitude about something? The topic you choose must fit the purpose, so this is a necessary first step.
    • Brainstorming. Write down subjects you have an interest in. look through newspapers, the internet, current magazines and periodicals. Find anything that catches your eye?
    • Focus your topic. Make it narrow enough to cover in the scope of your essay.
  2. Determine the thesis or central idea for the essay. This thesis statement is the framework for the entire essay. It’s what everything else will be based on, so make sure it is worded correctly and that you feel confident you can provide sufficient evidence to support your thesis statement.
  3. Make an outline for your essay. The format it should follow is introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. If you are writing a standard-size essay, it might fit into 5 paragraphs. The three paragraphs in the body would each cover one main point that leads back to the thesis statement. Your outline should also show some minor points under each major point. Then when you begin the writing phase, all you need to do is follow the outline and the writing should be quick and efficient.
  4. The introduction should tell the reader what the essay is going to be about, in a nice brief form. The last sentence should be the thesis statement.
  5. Each paragraph in the body should have an opening statement that transitions the reader into the main point you are presenting. The last sentence transitions the reader into the next paragraph coming up.
  6. The conclusion is a summary of what has been presented in the entire essay. It’s kind of like the introduction but don’t duplicate any sentences. Never present any new material in the conclusion. It is a summary of what’s already been said.
  7. At the end of the conclusion paragraph, restate your thesis in different words than you used in the introduction.
  8. Proofread your essay and polish up any little errors.
